<P>Charles V. Poynter 79, Greenwood, passed away Monday morning, August 20, 2007, at Johnson Memorial Hospital. He was born May 31, 1928 in Somerset, KY to Lloyd Poynter and Laura (Danial) Poynter. He married Dorothy Cole on November 13, 1948 in Versailles, IN, she survives. Survivors include three daughters, Joyce (Don) Carnahan, Charlene (Robert) Lutz, and Liz (David) Higginbotham; one sister, Joyce Belt; one brother, Delmer (Eileen) Poynter; five grandchildren, Christopher (Heidi) Carnahan, Brian (Courtney Shelton) Lutz, Ben Higginbotham, Allyson (Joel) Boomsma, and Brad Lutz of; three great grandchildren, Zander Carnahan, Caitlyn Shelton and Chad Hundley. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Forest Warren. Charles was employed by Greyhound for 31 years as a bus driver, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Greenwood Presbyterian Church. His memberships included
Greenwood Masonic Lodge #514 F. & A.M. and the Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Rev. Cheryl Montgomery will officiate a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2007, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main Street. Calling will take place from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
