These six gentlemen each outlined their vision for our city and explained their desire to run for Mayor. Afterward, we discussed what would be in the best interest of the Marion County Republican Party and came to the consensus that it was to convene a special slating caucus to slate a Mayoral candidate for the May Primary. This is an unusual circumstance, but, as our Central Committee team told you when we sought to lead our party, we believe it is essential that you, our GOP precinct committeemen and ward chairmen<SPAN style="COLOR: navy">,</SPAN> be provided your opportunity to weigh in and determine who our Party will support for Mayor in May’s primary.</SPAN></FONT></P>
<P><FONT color=#000000 size=3><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt">I regret the impromptu timing of this caucus, but it is important that your voice be heard in selecting the right individual to challenge Mayor Peterson this Fall and the sooner this decision is made, the better our opportunity to build for November.
